I think for me as a new programmer what you showed in yur tutorial is really fantastic. simple easy to understand and opened my mind for some or more ideas.. Pls keep doing what you are doing as it is great work….
A simpler way of doing it is just to make the sprite transparent using the spriter editor alpha value.
