Here are step by step instructions on how to download and install GameMaker.

1. Goto www.yoyogames.com/gamemaker/try. And click on the download button. The page should look like this:

2. Save the file to a local folder in your computer (and remember where that folder is!

3. Once the download is complete, locate the file and run it.

4. The GameMaker installation process will start, you will get the welcome screen and you need to click “next“.

5. The GameMaker installtion requirements screen shows up, click “next“.

6. The GameMaker license screen shows up (read it ) , check the “I agree” box and click “next“.

7. The GameMaker installation destination folder shows up, click “next“.

8. The GameMaker “ready to install” screen shows up, click “START“.

9. The GameMaker installation final screen shows up (yes it’s over), click “EXIT” to start GameMaker!

10. GameMaker STARTS and you get a screen that asks you to UPGRADE. I suggest that as a beginner to GameMaker you don’t need to upgrade! so just click “don’t upgrade now“.
